Detectives Arrest Husband in Domestic-Related Homicide in Town of Brentwood

The Homicide Unit arrested a man in connection with the murder of his wife in the town of Brentwood. The suspect is 24-year-old Erwin Lorenzo Sanchez of the 4500 block of 38th Place in Brentwood. The victim is 24-year-old Lisbet Mendez of 38th Place in Brentwood. 
On January 1st, at about 8:15 am, officers with the Brentwood Police Department responded to the 4500 block of 38th Place for the report of a domestic-related assault. When they arrived, the officers discovered the victim suffering from stab wounds. She was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later.
The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect stabbed his wife during an argument.
Lorenzo Sanchez was arrested on the scene by responding officers. He is charged with first and second degree murder along with assault charges. He is in custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
