Detectives Obtain Arrest Warrant for Suspect in Sexual Assault in New Carrollton

Update 5:15 pm: We received calls from two alert citizens this afternoon who spotted the suspect at the Huntington Metro Station after we released his photo. Metro Transit Police quickly took him into custody. Robinson is now in custody in Fairfax County awaiting extradition back to Prince George's County. We thank these members of the community and our law enforcement partners for their help arresting this suspect.



Detectives have obtained an arrest warrant and are actively searching for the suspect wanted in connection with a sexual assault in New Carrollton on Sunday. The suspect is 23-year-old Darren Samuel Robinson of no fixed address.

The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect broke into the victim's apartment in the 5400 block of 85th Avenue around 7:00 am. The suspect sexually assaulted the victim and stole several items from her home before running out. 

During the course of the investigation, Robinson was developed as the suspect.
