PGPD Investigates Homicide in Chillum

The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting in Chillum on Sunday. The victim is 25-year-old Gamaliel Nerio Rico of Spring Road in Bladensburg. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random act. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

On April 17, 2016, at about 3:00 am, patrol officers were called to the 6800 block of Riggs Road for a shooting. When they arrived, they found two men outside suffering from gunshot wounds. Nerio Rico died several hours later at a hospital. The second victim is in critical condition.

Detectives are working to identify a motive and suspect(s) in this case.
