Detectives Investigate Homicide in Oxon Hill

The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a homicide in Oxon Hill. The victim is 41-year-old Derrick McCray of no fixed address. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random act. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

On January 27, 2016, at about 6:20 pm, patrol officers were called to the 5600 block of St. Barnabas Road for a shooting. When they arrived, they found the victim in the street suffering from gunshot wounds. He died several hours later at a hospital.

Detectives are working to identify a motive and suspect(s) in this case.
