PGPD Teams With Hispanic Partners For Annual Food Basket Delivery

The Prince George’s County Police Department and the Maryland chapter of the Hispanic National Law Enforcement Association (HNLEA) will distribute food baskets to the community next week. Members of the PGPD Command Staff, officers, members of HNLEA and volunteers will give the baskets to families in need in our community. Anyone is welcome to attend this event.

This annual event, which will feature Spanish radio station El Zol 107.9, was organized by HNLEA and the Prince George's County Police Department. HNLEA is a non-profit organization of professionals involved in the administration of justice and dedicated to the advancement of Hispanic and minority interests within the law enforcement profession.  “Fourteen years ago we started this as a gesture of good will between the police department and the community. That first year we gave out 20 food baskets, and over time, we are pleased to see that it has evolved into something much bigger. Last year, we gave out more than 1,000 food baskets,” said HNLEA President Joe Perez.

Anyone interested in donating to this great cause can drop off food at the PGPD Community Policing Services Building on New Hampshire Avenue.
