PGPD Investigates Fatal Hit-and-Run in Suitland

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal hit-and-run in Suitland. The victim is identified as 75-year-old Oswaldo Augusto Mootoo of Maxwell Drive in Camp Springs.
The preliminary investigation reveals Mootoo was struck on December 6, 2014, at about 12:20 am in the 4500 block of Silver Hill Road in Suitland.  Investigators believe he was attempting to cross the street when he was struck. The striking vehicle did not stop. While still in the street, Mootoo was struck by a second vehicle, which also failed to stop.  Mootoo was transported to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The first striking vehicle is described as a small sedan either gray or silver in color. It may have front end damage possibly on the bumper or headlight area, hood, windshield, or a combination of these areas.
Investigators would like to speak with anyone who may have witnessed this collision or has any information on this case.
