PGPD Investigates Fatal Pedestrian Collision in Hyattsville

The Prince George's County Police Department's Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision. The victim is 30-year-old Fredy Gonzalez Hernandez of Allison Street in Hyattsville.

On August 9, 2014, at about 6:10 pm, patrol officers were called to the 1800 block of University Boulevard for the report of a pedestrian collision. When they arrived, they found Hernandez in the roadway with critical injuries. He was taken to the hospital were he succumbed to his injuries on September 5, 2014.

The preliminary investigation reveals Hernandez was struck as he crossed University Boulevard. Hernandez was not in a crosswalk at the time. The driver remained on the scene.
