PGPD Investigates College Park Robberies


The Prince George's County Police Department is investigating two armed robberies and an attempted armed robbery in College Park on October 10th. Investigators consider the three incidents related.

In the first incident, a suspect robbed a male University of Maryland student at gunpoint sometime around 7:30 pm near the 9100 block of Baltimore Avenue. The victim suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital by a family member.

The second incident occurred around 8:30 p.m.  A suspect attempted to rob a second male UMD student in the 8200 block of Baltimore Avenue.

In the third incident, a female UMD student was robbed at gunpoint around 8:35 p.m. This robbery also took place in the 8200 block of Baltimore Avenue. No other injuries are reported.

The suspect in all three of these incidents is described as a black male, wearing a black hoodie and armed with a handgun.

The Prince George’s County Police Department is taking part in a previously scheduled safety walk this evening organized by UMD. The Off-Campus Safety Walk begins at 6:30 pm.
