PGPD at the Fraternal Order of Police FOP Lodge 89 Annual Fallen Heroes Memorial Ceremony

Each year, the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 89 hosts a memorial service to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice.  The purpose is to honor our officers killed in the line of duty.  Following the memorial service, family members, along with fellow police officers and guests, participated in a wreath-laying ceremony at each of the honored officers' grave sites.  It has become tradition to include our current recruit academy class so that they know who the officers were and their stories.  It is a unique and important opportunity to reflect on the reality of the oath taken to serve and protect the citizens of Prince George's County.
