PGPD honored during special ACT church service

Prince George's County Maryland...  The Prince George's County Police Department was honored during a special ACT Church service for First Responders in Fort Washington, Maryland.

On Sunday, September 11, 2011, a special service was held at Bethany Christian Church, it was led by the ACT Community Church Cluster, and dedicated to members of the Prince George's County Police Department, Prince George's County Public Safety Communications/911 Operators, and First Responders throughout Prince George's County.

"We have gratitude for First Responders, including the folk that answer our 911 calls, not to take them for granted or that they would be forgotten.  Our attitude is to keep them in our memories and our hearts," said ACT Pastors.

ACT Pastors and the congregations from the Bethany Christian, First Baptist of Camp Springs, Oxon Hill Lutheran, and Unity Presbyterian churches, came together to collect nearly $1400, which was then donated to HEROES Inc, in honor of Prince George's County First Responders.

HEROES Inc. is dedicated to aid families of law enforcement officers and fire fighters who have died in the line of duty in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.
